Pnakotic Kpuzzle!

We discussed the Yithian language recently, so here’s a puzzle written in that tongue. How cool is that? Everyone crack open your copy of the Pnakotic Manuscripts...
All you need to do is assign a letter to each hieroglyph and reveal the word. The decision as to what letter is represented by which hieroglyph is up to you (Hint: “frequency analysis”). Once you’ve worked out the translation, you can then rearrange the letters in the highlighted squares to identify the theme of this puzzle.
Too tricky? Then here are some clues to help you out:

Hurl At
A Dank Hut Known
Have Flan Top
Rave I Risk
Neatly Held
Hath Nil
Dark Mason
Cheap Lies
La, Sonny!
Elk Diva
A Flagpole Tune
Aha! Bran!
Gold Flees Junk
Ash Tarn
A Rook Sun
The Footwork
Rabies Folio
Fatten Hog? How?
Almond Flora
A Haircut
