"My name is Hector Garrity. My father was
a Supreme Court judge and my mother was the daughter of the Mexican
Consul-General to the United States. They married and moved into a house in New
York. I was named Hector after my grandfather. I lived a sheltered and wealthy
life: I studied hard and earned a degree in medicine at an Ivy League school. I
went to work as a trauma specialist at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Due to my exposure to homicides, unexplained deaths and victims lacking
identities, I quit my position after eight years and moved to Miskatonic
University in the city of Arkham, where I spent four years studying forensic
anthropology. This much is on the public record, as is my work with the Equipo
Argentino de Antropología Forense and my acceptance of a position with the Museum of Indigenous American Peoples in
New Mexico under its owner Carlton van Blunt. What is unknown I will reveal in
this statement..."
